Straight answers for Arkansas families
Arkansas homeschool questions. Answered.
Arkansas families file a Notice of Intent for each school year. The regular deadline is August 15, and the current 2026 through 27 form and online system should be used.
The current state guidance uses one Notice of Intent per family, with each homeschooled child listed. Online filers receive a copy by email; save that confirmation with your school records.
Yes. Families may choose nationally recognized testing to understand placement, progress, and learning needs. The state fact sheet lists examples, and the test provider’s current administration rules should guide your selection.
The 2026 through 27 EFA program can fund approved homeschool curriculum, tutoring, educational therapies, and other qualifying services. Participating families apply or renew for each student and follow the current family handbook and purchasing system.
Look for patterns by skill area, then choose a small number of high value goals for the next six to eight weeks. Match curriculum and adaptive practice to those goals, preserve the report, and review progress before adding more.
The 2026 through 27 Notice of Intent lets families indicate interest in interscholastic activities and available testing opportunities, including the state funded PSAT for grade 10, ACT for grade 11, AP exams, and ATLAS testing. Selecting an option helps the district coordinate access.
